Event Information
When do I show up?
-
Day of Sports activities begin at 10:00. Please
signup in advance if you know you can play. It will help the organization go
smoother when the day arrives. Check the Schedule for a rough outline of
what events we are having.
-
You can play for just one sport or for the entire day or just watch (Its really
more fun to play)
-
The best plan would be to arrive at 9:30, so that you can warm up. There
is a walking path nearby.
Parking?
There is plenty of parking in the Community Center parking
lot. We are located in the pavilion on the left up a
slight hill.
What do I bring?
-
Lot's of Energy! (You will need it!)
-
Lunch. We will provide drinks (Ice Water, Ice Tea) and some snacks. There
will also be a grill for some burgers or dogs. Last year we
grilled burgers. If your are interested in coordinating food, contact us
and we will try to help accommodate you, since not everyone wants a stomach
full of burgers on a day full of sport activity
-
A Snack or Side Dish. We are hoping that everyone could bring
a small dish to share. If you are not certain, let us know and
we can advise you appropriately. (now be wary,
because if you ask Doug, he will say to bring Lobster!)
-
Sports Accessories: Ankle braces Towels, Extra Shirts, Sunscreen
- NOTE: Since many sports require running. Bring shoes with good soles or cleats
where you won't slip! If there is any moisture on the field, you will definitely
use the extra traction.
-
Tennis Racquet (optional) There are some nice tennis courts next to our
area. There will be plenty of people for a pickup game.
- Sports Equipment? We provide nearly everything but if you have volleyballs/frisbees/soccer
balls/basketballs, bring em! Your team can use them for warmups or between
games.
-
The normal outdoor sports stuff (like sunscreen)
How much does it cost?
We are asking for an optional $5 donation to offset the cost of
renting the pavillion and fields . Please do not let this stop you from coming.
What happens if it rains?
We play RAIN or SHINE! It
rained once before and during our first year. We tried to cancel the event, but
you came anyway ! We had about 15
die-hards sport enthusiasts and played hard... and It was a
blast! So, unless we
have a category 5 hurricane, stop by! Alternate games will be provided in
the event of short showers.
Are There Prizes?
-
A couple "Day of Sports" T-Shirts will be raffled to players who can make it
through the entire day!!! but the larger the prize is how energized you will
feel after a real workout! Yes!
